The Dai Bach Band Palm Trees

WHERE DOES YOUR MONEY GO?

All the members of the Dai Bach Band including musicians, door, bar staff and ticket agents are volunteers and give their time for free.   As well as the profit from the sale of tickets, the profit from the bar goes into the fund raise too.   Even though the cost of the drinks are quite reasonable, the bar makes almost as much as the ticket sales.
So where did the money go in previous years? In February 2005 we sent £1,385.00 to the tsunami relief fund which is a lot of money for just one night’s event but in that year we hardly had to pay for anything including the hire of the hall which the Council donated for free.   Incidentally Dave Lewis, who looks after the hall, does let us have it at a special rate but don’t tell anyone.   In February 2006 we sent £940.00 to Ty Hafan which, considering we had to pay our way properly that year, is still pretty good.   In February 2007 we raised £921.26 for WaterAid who provide water and sanitation for the people of Africa and India.   In 2008 we had a poor turn out for some reason but everybody still had a really good time.   We managed to raise £615 for LATCH which is set up to support the special requirements of the children's oncology centre in Wales which is based at the Children's Hospital for Wales to help affected families and promote research in childhood cancer.   Last year we hit a record and raised £1,800.00 for Leukaemia Research and this year we have decided to raise funds for the Haiti Earthquake Crisis.
